Kimberly D. Hamby received her Bachelor of Science from California Polytechnic State University at San Luis Obispo. She obtained a Master of Science degree in Cell and Molecular Biology from Tulane University and a Master of Forensic Science degree from The George Washington University.

Ms. Hamby attended Mitchell Hamline School of Law where she earned a JD and a Certificate in Conflict Resolution Theory and Practice from their nationally recognized Dispute Resolution Institute. Chosen as one of five students to participate in the DRI Mediation Clinic, she worked with the Dispute Resolution Center as a mediator in various civil courts. She is a Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management and a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality.

Prior to joining Davis, Grass, Goldstein and Finlay, Ms. Hamby worked for over 15 years in healthcare with experience in both the private and public sector. Her healthcare experience includes oversight of Regulatory Affairs, Risk Management, Healthcare Compliance, Quality Management, Peer Review, Patient Safety, Research and Grants, Infection Prevention, Emergency Management, Security, and Human Resource Investigations. She has provided training and education to physicians, nurses, and on topics including the impact of clinical documentation on regulatory investigations, patient safety, and regulatory and healthcare compliance. Ms. Hamby has also developed several hospital policies and procedures. With an extensive background in science and law, Ms. Hamby applies a unique medicolegal perspective to medical malpractice issues.
